Ouédraogo Samiratou

I am a junior lecturer in public health and Co-chair of the O.R. Tambo Africa Research Chair in “Research and Action Against Cancer” at the University Joseph Ki-Zerbo in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). “Emerging voice for Global Health 2020”, I work and advocates for health equity and social justice. I have co-funded the Group for action and capacity building for women leadership in health. My aim is to make training and learning fun and accessible to everyone regarless of their socioeconomic background. I holds a PhD and a master’s degree in Epidemiology and Public Heath from the University of Burgundy (France); and a Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy from the Mohammed V University in Rabat (Morocco). She has benefited from post-Ph.D trainings at the University of Glasgow (Scotland, UK), the University of Montreal (FRQS Posdoctoral fellowship), the “Institut national de santé publique du Québec” (INSPQ) and McGill University (CIHR HSI Fellowship). My specific research interests include health system improvement, sexual reproductive health and rights, and preventing infectious diseases and cancers. Throughout my academic and work experiences, I have provided leadership and technical assistance on diverse projects and programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa, France, the United-Kingdom and Canada.
