Salvatore Calcagno

Salvatore Calcagno was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy. In 1986, he received a degree in electronic engineering from the University of Naples, Italy. Between 1987 and 1989, he was applied at Societ.a Aerospaziale Italiana Aeritalia, Pomigliano d'Arco (NA), Italy, in the field of safety and reliability of aircraft systems, and in the following two years at ALENIA, Rome, Italy, in wind-traps R&D. In 1991, he came back to Reggio Calabria, joining the University Mediterranea, Department of Informatics Mathematics Electronics and Transportation, as coordinator of the Analysis of Transportation Systems Lab. At the beginning, his research interests were mainly focused on measurement and modeling of urban pollution and then in the field of electromagnetic nondestructive testing and evaluation. Since 2003, as Assistant Professor of Electric and Electronic Measurements, he started two new research activities, in the fields of electromagnetic pollution and bioengineering applied to neurosciences.
