Sander has a keen interest in research methodology and statistics for all major clinical epidemiological domains, such as therapeutic interventions, aetiology, and prognostic and diagnostic research (e.g. predictive and diagnostic modelling). He teaches a course on clinical prediction modelling in cooperation with Maastricht University. Besides empirical research, he is interested in statistical methods for handling missing data (such as stochastic and multiple imputation), index-event bias, and the use of stochastic simulations to determine the characteristics of statistical methods and the impact of bias.
