Sidney Chocron

Sidney Chocron is manager of the Computational Mechanics section at Southwest Research Institute. His F technical interests include plasticity and failure models of materials at high strain-rates, and, in particular, composites and fabrics. He has 25 years of experience in the field, 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and 100 full papers in conferences. Dr. Chocron's models are currently being used by the Army and NASA in applications to predict and refine the design of structures under particles, ballistic, and blast impacts. Dr. Chocron is currently president and Fellow of the International Ballistics Society, where he has also served as Secretary and Treasurer.
