The human system has an innate mechanism to recover from trauma, injury and disease which might result in disability and degeneration. Intuitive learning models such as this are often ignored by technology developers who focus on disability only rather than considering the residual abilities-disability spectrum as a whole. The SynPhNe system is an automated physio-neuro platform which enables the re-activation of such an innate recovery mechanism after stroke, using brain and muscle signals.
