The focus of my work is on the longitudinal epidemiology of mood disorders, with a particular interest in the emergence of these conditions during adolescence and young adulthood. I currently hold the Cutherbertson and Fischer Chair in Pediatric Mental Health. My main goal is to integrate epidemiologic estimates of incidence, recurrence, prevalence, episode duration and mortality into a comprehensive epidemiologic picture. I have expertise in methodological approaches to the analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal data, including administrative data, national survey data and knowledge synthesis using systematic review methods. In addition to methods of analysis methods, I have experience with all aspects of longitudinal and cross-sectional epidemiologic projects including issues related to sampling, measurement and data collection. I am also interested in the application of simulation methods for epidemiological modeling of mood disorders.
