Ryan K. Orosco (Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering in 2006 from New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, NM, USA, and the M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA, in 2010. He is an Assistant Professor of Surgery with the University of California San Diego, La Jolla, CA, USA, and is a practicing Otolaryngologist with subspecialty training in head and neck robotic surgery. His research interests in robotic surgery include tissue modeling, novel techniques and platforms, safety, and semiautonomy.
