Doctorate degree from the University of Huelva (11/2013), Science and Technology program Chemistry. In 05/2014, postdoctoral scientific research stay linked to the biotechnology of microalgae (extremophilic organisms from the Atacama Desert, Chile) whose the place of work was the University of Antofagasta (UA), financed by a European project KBBE.2013.3.2-02 - G.A. 613588 (MIRACLES VII, VII Framework Program) duration of 27 months. 1st project as IP-2016, code PAI-79160037 from CONICYT (now ANID, Chile), investigating the use of microalgae as a potential source of bioactive compounds for the development of functional foods. In 09/2017, obtaining a place as Associate Professor (official) in the Department of Food Sciences and Nutrition, UA (Chile), until the date. Co-direction of the LAMICBA research group (Laboratory of Microencapsulation of Bioactive Compounds) of the UA (Chile) from 01/2017 to 03/2021, passing to the Group management from 04/2021 to date. Research activity in the lines of: (1) biotechnology for obtaining biomolecules from commercial value of microalgae; (2) study of the potential for bioactivity and biotechnological use of biomolecules obtained from natural sources, particularly for use in food or in bioenergy, using microalgae and other products such as fruits and vegetables. Adaptation of high resolution extractive methods (pressurized liquids and supercritical fluids, among others) and different chromatographic methods typical of studies of biomolecules, for their separation, identification and analysis of properties, such as gas chromatography (GC) and high resolution liquid chromatography (HPLC), among others. Direction of 3 defended Undergraduate Theses (2018-2022) and 3 in the process of defense (12/2022). Co-supervision of 3 Undergraduate Theses (2018-2020) and 2 Master's Theses until 2022. From access to the Professor at the UA (Chile), responsible for 9 research projects (7 completed, 1 under development and 1 beginning 2023) obtained in public calls of the Government of Chile (ANID), MINEDUC-Chile, Regional Government of Antofagasta, UA and/or "Requalification of the Spanish University System, Grants modality María Zambrano”, Financing: European Union – Next Generation EU. Ministry of Universities, Government of Spain. Amount granted: €51,500. Participation since 2010 as a researcher in another 8 projects financed by ANID-Chile, MINEDUC-Chile, Andalusian Research Plan (Spain). Until 10/2022, author/co-author of 37 scientific articles in journals indexed in different categories, of which: 29 accepted/published in JCR journals, 4 articles published in Scielo/other journals, 4 book chapters belonging to specialized monographs from national/international publishers and 2 pending decision (JCR, not counted in the 37) and more than 43 presentations at National/International Congresses (oral and poster) since 2009. Regular reviewer of scientific articles in the field of microalgae biotechnology, food engineering and food application for numerous journals indexed by the JCR. Member of the National and Foreign Undergraduate and Postgraduate Thesis Evaluation Committee, including European accreditation. Since 2020, Research Secretary of the Department of Sciences of Food and Nutrition (UA, Chile). Since 2015, Professor and Coordinator in the UA of regulated subjects in the titles of Degree of Engineering of Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology and Nutrition (more than 60 credits equivalent to ECTS taught). Obtaining the ANECA accreditation (Professor Hired Doctor: 2020-869) and accreditation Postgraduate Professor at the UA (Chile).
