Roser Morato

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2008), I have been responsible for the IVF Laboratory within the department of Animal Medicine and Surgery, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (2008-2012). During this period I had the opportunity to work in innovative research activities in the field of biotechnology of reproduction, especially in cryopreserved embryos. I focused my research on the cryopreservation of oocytes and embryos from livestock species of interest, developing extensive experience in the handling of gametes and embryos up to the blastocyst stage in assisted reproduction techniques (micromanipulation and microinjection) and proteomics, genomics and microscopy techniques. The methodologies used are intended to optimize existing protocols for vitrification. Since June 2012, I am a postdoctoral researcher from Juan de la Cierva program at the University of Girona and I am responsible for the IVF laboratory of Technosperm group. Author of about 35 research papers and co-inventor of one patent. In recent years, my focus is predominantly on oocyte and embryo cryopreservation as well as embryo culture systems.
