Romulo Augusto Juca Oliveira

Romulo A. Juca Oliveira, is a Brazilian, from Belém-PA, Ph.D. in Meteorology at National Institute for Space Research (INPE, Brazil). He is currently Post-doc Research from IRD (). Before Engineer at Hydro-Matters, France. As a research engineer, Dr. Juca Oliveira worked at Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS, Toulouse, France) - from 2017 to 2022 at Geosciences Environnement Toulouse (GET), at Laboratoire d’Etudes en Geophysique et Oceanographie Spatiales (LEGOS) and at Hydro-Matters (start-up), France. Previously, from 2011 to 2013, he worked at Center for Monitoring and Early Warning of Natural Disasters (CEMADEN) as a Research Engineer Fellow. From 2015 to 2016, he was a Research Scholar at George Mason University (GMU, Fairfax VA). Dr. Juca Oliveira was also visiting researcher (2016) at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR, Boulder-CO, US). Since 2012 he has been a part of the International Precipitation Working Group (IPWG, Validation Group). His research activities include development and assessments of satellite- and radar-based Quantitative Precipitation Estimation (QPE), uncertainty characterization of rainfall for several applications, such as hydrologic, nowcasting, and climate studies.
