Roger Oliva

Roger Oliva (Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. degree in telecommunication engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain, in 2004. He founded Zenithal Blue Technologies, Barcelona, in 2018, a company specialized in providing expert assessment in Earth Observation remote sensing and in the management and detection of radio frequency interference (RFI). In his professional life, he has been working on several space projects, including the European Space Agency’s mission Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS), where he has been the Calibration Coordinator since 2011 and Mars Express. He is also leading some international initiatives in defense of the remote sensing community. Mr. Oliva is the Current Chair of the IEEE GRSS Frequency Allocation in Remote Sensing (FARS) Technical Committee and the Chair of the RFI in Remote Sensing Working Group that leads the development of a standard to quantify the amount of RFI in the remote sensing bands.
