Roberto Arnaldo Trancoso Gomes (Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in geography from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1999, 2002, and 2006, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Geography Department, University of Brasília, Brasília, Brazil, and a Professor of the Graduate Program in Geography with the University of Brasília. He is an Editor of Revista Espaço and Geografia and a Reviewer in several scientific journals. He has experience in Geosciences and Geomorphology, mapping, process modeling, digital image processing, and artificial intelligence.
