Robert Kane’s research deals with the health and long-term care of older persons; the relationship between acute and chronic care; and quality of care. His recent books deal with health care outcomes, geriatrics, chronic care provision, and the failure of the health care system. He directs the Center on Aging, the Clinical Outcomes Research Center, the Minnesota Area Geriatric Education Center, and an AHRQ-funded Evidence-based Practice Center. His current research examines long-term care provision, hospital care outcomes, and assessing quality of care. He teaches courses on health policy and quality of care.
