Robert S. Donnan received the B.Sc. degree in mathematical physics from the University of Wollongong, Wollongong, NSW, Australia, in 1990, the M.Sc. degree in applied physics from the University of Technology Sydney, Ultimo, NSW, Australia, in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree in solid-state physics from the University of Wollongong, in 2000. In 2001, he joined the Queen Mary University of London, London, U.K., as a Research Assistant with the Antennas and Electromagnetics Group, Department of Electronic Engineering, where he was appointed as a Lecturer in 2003, promoted to a Senior Lecturer in 2013, and to a Reader in terahertz (THz) engineering physics in 2015. He founded the THz Metrology Laboratory, School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, in 2009, that develops and applies methods of antenna metrology to life sciences broadly and to basic and applied research in millimeter-wave and THz engineering specifically. Dr. Donnan is a fellow of the Institute of Physics and the Institute of Engineering and Technology, U.K., and a Chartered Physicist.
