R. Alan Williams

Research interests: prehistoric & historic metal mining, trade/exchange across the ancient world and the movement of people, ideas and technology. Uses his specialist research expertise from his career as the chief geologist for an international glass company to tackle outstanding archaeological questions. After completing his PhD at Liverpool on tracing the copper from the Bronze Age Great Orme copper mine in Wales he is now a postdoctoral researcher at Durham University on Project Ancient Tin
