Rita Hansdorfer-Korzon

I am a graduate of the Józef Piłsudski Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw, Faculty of Motor Rehabilitation. The studies at that school in the years 1987-1992 have set the direction for my academic, didactic and professional development. In the year 1992 I have been awarded a Master’s diploma in motor rehabilitation based on the defense of my thesis titled: “Identity of disabled people” written under the academic supervision of Dr. Witold Rekowski at the Institute of Psycho-social Basis of Rehabilitation of AWF in Warsaw. In 1994, while working at the position of junior assistant at the Regional Department for Rehabilitation of Children and Adolescents in Gdańsk I have undertaken a 1,5-year physical therapy internship at the North Shore Terrace Hospital in Chicago, United States, which recognition of the Master’s diploma in Motor Rehabilitation, gaining the Licensed Physical Therapist license no. 070-008491, issued by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. In 1997 (employed as junior assistant at the Department and Institute of Rehabilitation of the Medical Academy in Gdańsk) I have received the 1st degree of specialization in the area of motor rehabilitation with a very good result. Awarding entity: Department of Health and Social Welfare in Gdańsk, granted on: 10.04.1997. In 2001 I have received the 2nd degree of specialization in Motor Rehabilitation, also with a very good result. Awarding entity: Post-graduate Education Medical Center in Warsaw, granted on: 22.11 2001, Diploma no. 37096/34/I/2001. In 2004, after having passed the applicable exams at the Medical Academy in Gdańsk and based on the defense with honors of a doctoral thesis on the subject of: “Optimization of physical therapy and diagnostic methods in the treatment of lymphedema in post-mastectomy women” I have been granted the academic degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences in the area of medical biology, awarded by the Resolution of the Medical University’s Medical Faculty Board dated 19.02.2004. Supervisor: M.D. dr. hab. Stanisław Bakuła, PhD.On 16th March I obtained the PhD title.
