Greetings
This is Rimpi, working as an IBRO- APRC fellow at Florey Institute of Neurosciences and Mental Health (Australia), under the supervision of Prof. Ashley Bush, where I am studying the neuronal damage promoted by brain iron accumulation in APP knockout mice.
I have received several scholarships during my bachelor's and master's studies. I did my Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences focused on neurodegeneration and neuroprotection in India. I received the post-graduate scholar award from AICTE, India, in 2008-09 and the International Brain Research Organization-Asia Pacific Regional Committee Exchange Fellowship in 2019. I was awarded the young investigator award at the 13th world stroke congress-2021 and some international travel grants by IBRO (2021 and 2022), ISN, APSN (2021, 2022), CSIR (2018 and 2019), BPS (2019). My research outcomes have been published in various outstanding peer-reviewed journals such as Molecular Neurobiology (IF 5.59), CNS and Neurological Disorders -Drug Targets (IF 4.38), Behavioural Pharmacology (IF 2.3) and so on.
I led some research works and published some research articles as the corresponding author. I have also been involved in the pharmacological screening of herbal, semisynthetic, and synthetic drugs in animal models of various diseases like movement disorders (Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease and Tardive dyskinesia), traumatic brain disease injury (TBI), epilepsy, depression and cognitive impairment related disorders. My research aimed to exploit the new pathological mechanisms involved in neurodegenerative disorders' pathogenesis and investigate the role of neurotransmitters, mitochondrial dysfunction, excitotoxicity, oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, apoptosis in neurodegenerative disease and how investigational drugs modulate these pathways. I am also experienced in surgical procedures for cerebral ischemia, stereotaxic cannula implantation for drug administrations in various brain regions, including intra-cerebroventricular, intra-striatal, intra-peduncle, intra-nigral, etc.
Moreover, I have over the past 10 years teaching and research associate experience for supervising honours, master's, and Doctor of Pharmacy Students. I am a lifetime member of some professional affiliation such as PCI, APTI, SfN, ISN, ASN, ANS, CSPT and so on. I have been involved in a research project focusing on a new model for schizophrenia. My research gate score (RG: 59) and google scholar score (GS: 69), and the RG score is higher than 85% of all Research Gate members' scores (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Rimpi-Arora-2) and (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=NIFsR5UAAAAJ&hl=en) in the world.
