Ramakant Nevatia

Ramakant Nevatia received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and is currently a professor of computer science and electrical engineering at the University of Southern California, where he is the founding director of the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (IRIS). Prof. Nevatia has more than 30 years of experience in computer vision research and has published more than 100 referreed technical papers. He is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and a member of the ACM. In recent years, his research has been focused on detecting and tracking humans and vehicles in video and on techniques for representation and recognition of events.
