I am a mechanistic cell biologist, whose long-term interest is to elucidate the fundamental links between mammalian cellular function, physiological function, and pathogenicity. More specifically, my goal is to understand how organelles, particularly the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and mitochondria (Mito), interact and co-ordinate to maintain cellular homeostasis, with an emphasis on how these interactions are dysregulated during various pathological stresses.
