Rahul Walawalkar

Rahul leads the Emerging Technologies & Markets practice for Customized Energy Solutions. His activities have covered complete range of smart grid, demand response and energy storage technologies. Rahul currently serves on the Board of Directors of Electricity Storage Association and was elected as Secretory in 2013. He is also Executive Director for India Energy Storage Alliance. Rahul is involved in providing inputs for the demand response and energy storage policy to FERC & various state agencies in US and India. He has served as an expert evaluator for US Department of Energy for various smart grid and energy storage demonstration projects in US during 2009-12. Rahul has also obtained Smart Grid Maturity Model (SGMM) Navigator certification from Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute. Rahul holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. He also holds Masters in Energy Management from New York Institute of Technology.
