Quezia B. Cass

Dr Cass did her PhD working on organic synthesis under the supervision of Prof. Peter Sammes. After ten month as a lecturer at Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil, she held a research fellowship at City University in London, UK, to work in the group of Prof. Stephen A. Matlin. Chiral chromatography plays an important role in her research projects and a number of methods were developed for analytical and preparative separations .The use of multidimensional HPLC for quantification or characterization of micromolecules in complex matrices is also subject of her work, in the last ten years, and permeates all types of method development in her group. The interest in method development for quality control of natural products, as raw materials or as phytotherapic medicines, is another area of research subjects in her group. The development of immobilized enzyme reactors for on-line high throughput screens for drug discovery has been, lately, one of her main research interest.
