Bio
Dr. Shen’s research focuses on the field of bottom-up DNA nanodevice design and application. He has developed a DNA-origami scaffolded artificial nuclear pore complex (NuPOD) to investigate the mechanism of nuclear transport and dissect HIV-1 and other viruses nuclear entry in a near-native in vitro system. He has a multidisciplinary background, and his research interests include DNA nanotechnology, synthetic biology, and structural cell biology.
