Qing Cao received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Wuhan University, Wuhan, China, in 1997 and 2005, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Oklahoma (OU), Norman, USA, in 2009, all in electrical engineering. He was a Telecom Engineer in China from 1997 to 2002, working on wireless communication systems. From 2002 to 2005, he was with the Radio Wave Propagation Laboratory, Wuhan University, performing research on the high-frequency ground wave radar system. Since 2006, he has been with the Atmospheric Radar Research Center (ARRC), OU, where he was first a Graduate Assistant, then a Postdoctoral Researcher, and currently a Research Scientist. He has also been an adjunct Research Fellow in the Hydrometeorology and Remote-Sensing Laboratory of OU since 2011. His research interests include remote-sensing techniques, radar signal processing, weather radar polarimetry, cloud/precipitation microphysics, and quantitative precipitation estimation and forecasts.
