Pramod Kumar received the master’s and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, India, in 2001 and 2008, respectively. He is presently an Associate Professor of mechanical engineering at IISc. Prior to joining IISc as a Faculty Member, he worked as a Research Engineer at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA. He works broadly in the area of thermal systems. His research interests include the development of supercritical CO2 power generation technology, PCM coupled heat pipe for spacecraft thermal control, and high-speed electrical motors for sCO2 turbogenerators. Dr. Kumar is an elected fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering.
