Her clinical expertise includes the emergency treatment and prevention of stroke and general acute neurological care. She directs the National Coordinating Center of NIH StrokeNet, the primary infrastructure for NIH-funded multicenter trials of stroke and training future trialists in the US. She has broad experience in therapeutic development from conception to post-marketing phases including translational, study design, regulatory, safety, and ethical aspects. Her research expertise includes acute stroke, stroke prevention, brain health, biomarkers of motor recovery after stroke, and innovative trial design.
