Polly-Anne Jeffrey

I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow in applied mathematics at the University of Leeds. My research is in collaboration with the Defence Sciences and Technologies Laboratory (DSTL) and I am working with experimental data to build a within-host model of Anthrax infection. I have a PhD in applied mathematics from the University of Leeds where I used deterministic and stochastic mathematical modelling, along with Bayesian and frequentist statistical techniques, to explore receptor-ligand initiated cell signalling pathways, important in the regulation of healthy cells. Such pathways are often dysregulated in different disease scenarios, and as such I collaborated with AstraZeneca to analyse data concerning different small molecule drug inhibitors to treat non-small cell lung cancer.
