Current work includes: - determinants and correlates of civilian targeting in armed conflict, including access to resources and weather/climate shocks; - the impact of economic sanctions on target economies and societies (impact on growth, quality of institutions and democracy, public spending) - project funded by the Qatar National Research Fund; - how expert knowledge informs public opinion on FTAs; - delineation of metropolitan areas and socioeconomic effects of sub- and de-urbanisation;
