Pilar Leoz

Since I finished my medical residency in Hematology and Hemotherapy at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, in May 2015, I started a flow cytometry training at the Cancer Research Center from Salamanca in the laboratory led by Professor Alberto Orfao. Afterwards, in September 2016 I started my PhD thesis in acute myeloid leukemias and other myeloid neoplasms at the Cancer Biology and Clinic and Translational Medicine program from the University of Salamanca. Further, from April 2018 to March 2021, I worked at the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Salamanca, in the area of hematological diagnosis with special emphasis on morphology and flow cytometry and also in the multiple myeloma outpatients clinic, with participation in many clinical trials, under the coordination of Dr. María Victoria Mateos. In June 2021, I returned to the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, in Barcelona, to start working in the Hematology laboratory and also in the erithropathology unit, assisting patients with a wide variety of red cell disorders.
