Philippe Autier

Since 2010, Philippe Autier, MD, PhD is Vice President, Population Research, at the International Prevention Research Institute in Lyon (France). Ph Autier is a leading figure in research on cutaneous melanoma and breast cancer, especially in the causations, prevention and early detection of these cancers. He is also involved in the clinical evaluation of methods for cancer detection and in health technology assessment. Since 2013, Ph Autier has embodied the field of pharmacoepidemiology. Volunteer at the humanitarian non-governmental organization Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), for which he services in Honduras (1985 and 1986), and in Chad (1987-88). In Chad, he was the medical coordinator of health projects. Head of the medical department of MSF-Belgium in Brussels in 1988-89,. Founding member and board member of the organisation AEDES (www.aedes.be) from 1988 to 2010, and after of the AEDES Foundation. AEDES provides expertise in public health to low and middle income countries. Head of the Prevention and Screening Department of the Jules Bordet Cancer Institute in Brussels in 1992-95 and 2002-2005 Deputy Director at the European Institute of Oncology in Milano, from 1995 to 2000. Group Head at the International Agency for research on Cancer in Lyon, from 2005 to 2010.
