Pedro Henrique Hermes De Araújo

Pedro Henrique Hermes de Araújo is Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. He received his undergraduate training and doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As part of the PhD program, he spent two years at the University of the Basque Country at San Sebastian, Spain. He did postdoctoral research at the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and spent a sabbatical year at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz (Germany) as Visiting Professor. His research interests are focused on the investigation of polymerization processes in dispersed media, in special emulsion and miniemulsion polymerization, the encapsulation of active compounds and the use of renewable resources to obtain new polymer materials.
