Paul H. Lysaker is a clinical psychologist at the Roudebush VA medical center and an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry Indiana University School of Medicine. He is an active clinician, teacher, and researcher. His current areas of study include understanding barriers to recovery for persons with severe mental illness and the development of a recovery focused form of individual psychotherapy.

Primary research focus is understanding barrier to recovery from severe mental illness among adults and the development of new rehabilitative and psychotherapeutically based interventions.
