P. Jeremy Werdell

P. Jeremy Werdell received the Bachelor of Arts in biology and environmental science from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, USA, in 1996, the Master of Science in oceanography from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT, USA, in 1998, and the Doctor of Philosophy in oceanography from the University of Maine, Orono, ME, USA, in 2014. He is currently an Oceanographer with the Ocean Ecology Laboratory, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Greenbelt, MD, USA. He has worked with the Ocean Ecology Laboratory since 1999, where he currently serves as the Project Scientist for the Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem (PACE) mission, as well as senior leader of several tasks. His interests extend to the on-orbit calibration of ocean color satellite instruments, the validation of remotely-sensed data products, the collection and analysis of in situ biogeochemical oceanographic measurements, and the assimilation of the above to study how the global ocean and various regional ecosystems are changing with time.
