My research investigates how immune responses impact wound healing, antibacterial activity and recovery in burn injuries. I analyze blood and skin samples from patients using cell culture, microscopy, and flow cytometry. We developed a database of literature on cellular and cytokine responses to burns. At the Burn Research Lab, we created a skin model to simulate wound healing and test treatments, aiming to improve care and avoiding animal use.
