As veterinarian and population geneticist I am interested in the evolutionary history and immune genetic response of domestic animals and their wild relatives to their environments. With next generation sequencing becoming cheaper, I am moving towards a One Health genomic approach to understand species dispersal behaviour and associated zoonotic disease risk factors in relation to geographic and climatic variables, with effects on environmental, animal and human health.
