Paolo A. Ascierto major research interests have included research in the genetics and proteomics of melanoma, assessment of new molecular markers for tumor progression, biochemical and immunological monitoring, immunotherapy and vaccination treatments in solid tumors, and combination strategies with I-O. He is Associate Editor of Annals of Oncology for Onco-Immunology, Chief Section Editor for Combination Strategies section of Journal of Translational Medicine, Associate Editor of Journal of ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, and Editorial Board member of EBioMedicine. As a result of Professor Ascierto’s experience and expertise, he has been a valued invited speaker at more than 400 national and international meetings. Furthermore, he maintains active memberships in several international medical societies. He is also member of the Steering Committee of Society of Melanoma Research (SMR) since 2016, member of the board of Cancer Development Drug Forum (CDDF) since 2017, member of Board of Directors of Society of Immuno Therapy of Cancer (SITC) since 2018, as well as President of the Fondazione Melanoma Onlus since 2010, and President of Campania Society of ImmunoTherapy of Cancer (SCITO) since 2013. Professor Ascierto has presided as Principal Investigator on over 80 clinical trials and he is the author of more than 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
