Osama M. Mukdadi

Osama M. Mukdadi received a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2002. He joined the Children's Hospital at Denver and the University of Colorado (2003–2005) as a postdoctoral fellow working on application of biomedical ultrasound and cardiovascular biomechanics. In Spring 2006, Dr. Mukdadi moved to West Virginia University as an Assistant Professor where he joined the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Currently, he is the director of the WV Ultrasonics Laboratory. He is also a faculty member in the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Cardiovascular Sciences (CIRCS). His research interests include ultrasound harmonic contrast imaging, broadband ultrasound transducers, cardiovascular biomechanics and imaging, ultrasonic nondestructive evaluation, and micro- and nano- material characterization. He is author/co-author over 35 technical articles in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. In 2001, he received an outstanding paper award from American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He is a member of IEEE, AHA, ASA, and affiliate member of ASME.
