Juan Pablo Ame Ortiz

Juan Pablo Amelio Ortiz works at the Laboratorio de Biologia Molecular, Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias, UNR/ Instituto de Investigaciones en Ciencias Agrarias de Rosario (IICAR) CONICET-UNR, Zavalla, Argentina. Juan Pablo does research in plant molecular biology, plant reproduction and plant breeding. His main interest is the undertanding of the molecular bases of apomixis, an asexual mode of reproduction by seeds, in species of Paspalum. Their current project 'Genetic and molecular characterization of apomixis in species of the genus Paspalum' is directed to identify key genes associated with apomixis as well as the mechanisms that allow the swich between sexuality and apomixis.
