个人简介
Opeoluwa is an accomplished Quantity Surveyor with a wealth of experience in Consultancy and Contracting aspects of the construction industry. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Nigeria, where he showcased his research prowess by authoring articles and securing first place at the ReCon2 Student Essay Writing and Presentation competition organised by the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS). Opeoluwa's dedication to excellence earned him a Productivity and Excellence award from FUTA.
As a probationer member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and a registered member of the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors, Opeoluwa has gained significant industry experience in Nigeria and South Africa. He has managed cost-related aspects of projects exceeding $250 million in Nigeria and played a pivotal role in winning over $50 million tenders in South Africa.
Opeoluwa's academic achievements are equally impressive. He completed his Master's program in Quantity Surveying at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) with distinction, finishing in just 13 months. Subsequently, he obtained his PhD in Construction Management from the same institution. He now serves as a Researcher and Lecturer in the Department of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying at the University of Johannesburg. Opeoluwa has published over 70 articles in reputable journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings. His current research focuses on applying blockchain technology to enhance construction industry business processes.
Recognised for his exceptional research abilities, Opeoluwa participated in a blockchain technology summer school at the University of Zurich and earned certification as a blockchain architect from the Blockchain Council, USA. He received the Academic Rising Star award at The BIM Africa Innovation Awards 2021 and was honoured as the Best PhD candidate in the Department of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying at UJ for the 2022 academic year. The Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at UJ also awarded him the Overall Best PhD candidate in the faculty, which culminated in the prestigious "Recognition of Exceptional Academic Achievement in Doctoral Studies - 2022" award.
With his diverse background and expertise, Opeoluwa is well-suited for Senior Lecturer and Quantity Surveyor roles. His professional demeanour and collaborative approach facilitate effective knowledge transfer and teamwork in academic and professional environments.
