Oliver Probst

Oliver Probst was born in Hannover, Germany, in 1963. He received the Diploma degree in physics and the Ph.D. degree in natural sciences from the University of Heidelberg, Heidelberg, Germany, in 1990 and 1994, respectively. He has been a Professor of Physics and Renewable Energy with the Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), Monterrey Campus, Monterrey, México, since 1996, and served as the Chair of the Department of Physics, from 1999 to 2006, and as the Chair of Wind Energy from 2008 to 2014. In 2009, he was a Visiting Professor with the University of Texas at Brownsville, Brownsville, TX, USA. He is currently a Full Professor with ITESM, and a Consultant to a portfolio of commercial wind farm projects in México. His current research interests include wind resource assessment and modeling, small wind turbine technology, and damage modeling in wind turbine blades.
