个人简介
I am full professor at the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse (INP Toulouse). I received my engineer degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Oceanography from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées (ENSTA-ParisTech) in 1979 and my PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 1982. I started my career in industry as research-engineer at Electricité de France R&D in 1983 and managed the Industrial Fluid Mechanic group at the Laboratoire National d’Hydraulique (EDF R&D) at Chatou from 1990 to 1996. In 1996 I joined INP-ENSEEIHT as part time professor where I was promoted as full professor in 2001. I served as University vice-president for research at INP Toulouse from 2006 to 2012 and was elected as president in April 2012 and April 2016.
Since 1996, I am conducting my research at the Institut de Mécanique des Fluides de Toulouse (IMFT). I served as director of IMFT from 2000 to 2006. My ongoing research covers a broad range of topics in computational and theoretical multiphase fluid mechanic, including:
- statistical PDF modeling approach for dispersed turbulent multiphase flows focusing on particle-particle and particle-wall interactions;
- coupling techniques between kinetic equation resolution methods (Monte Carlo or Lattice Boltzmann methods) and moment methods in the frame of a joint fluid-particle PDF approach;
- particle resolved numerical simulation approach, based on hybrid Euler-Lagrange Volume of Fluid (VOF) method, to study local fluid-particle and particle-particle interactions in dense fluid-particle flows;
- URANS and Large Eddy Simulation approaches for particle- or droplet-laden flows in dilute and dense regime;
- mathematical modeling and 3D numerical simulation of reacting multiphase flows at laboratory, pilot and industrial scales (such as chemical looping combustion process, biomass gasification boiler, polymerization reactor, fluid catalytic cracking risers, ….).
