Rudjord, O.

Øystein Rudjord was born in Norway, in 1981. He received the M.Sc. degree in theoretical physics in 2006 and the Ph.D. degree in astrophysics in 2010 from the University of Oslo, Oslo, Norway, where his thesis focused on developing algorithms to retrieve cosmological variables from cosmic microwave background image data from the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe satellite. Since 2011, he has been with the Norwegian Computing Center (NR), Oslo, Norway, where he is currently a Senior Research Scientist. Since joining NR, he has focused his research on remote sensing of snow and ice for applications to climate and meteorology, as well as oil spill detection using SAR. His research interests are on developing automatic algorithms for physical variable retrieval from satellite data.
