My interests include saprotrophic fungi on livestock feeds, oak logs and mitigating methane emissions in livestock. Specialities: Identifying saprotrophic fungal species using macro-, micro-morphology and molecular techniques; carrying out fields surveys of saprotrophic fungi on livestock feeds. In vitro rumen methane measurements; chemical (e.g. halogenated methane analogues, fatty acids, statins, dicarboxylic acids, nitrate) and biological (e.g. yeasts, bacteria) agents to manipulate rumen fermentation to reduce methane emissions.
