Dr. Smith has been the AUA RUC member since 2016, and in this capacity also presently serves on the AUA Coding and Reimbursement committee, as well as the AUA Public Policy Council. At the RUC, he has served on the Administrative subcommittee, the Multispecialty Points of Comparison workgroup, and was recently appointed Vice-chair of the Relativity Assessment Workgroup or RAW. The RAW is charged with identification of potentially misvalued services and has historically redistributed over 5 billion dollars within the Medicare system.
Dr. Smith was recently recruited to NorthShore University Healthcare System in Evanston, Illinois, serving as Chief of Urologic Oncology, Clinical Trials and Program Development. He currently has 95 peer-reviewed manuscripts including publications in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Clinical Cancer Research, Nature, Cell, the Lancet and the Journal of Urology.
