个人简介
R. Nolasco graduated in Geophysical Sciences from the Lisbon University in 1992 and completed a MsC (DEA) degree in Ocean Sciences from University of Western Brittany (Brest, France) in 1993 and a PhD degree in 1998 from the same University, in Marine Geophysics. The beginning of her career was devoted to problems of Marine Geophysics, namely electromagnetic methods to study the Marine lithosphere and mantle.
During 1999-2003 R. Nolasco started a FCT Pos-doc grant at the Lisbon University, participating in several projects related to Marine Geophysics, and Magneto-Telluric studies. During the period 2003- 2006 R. Nolasco was granted with another Pos-Doc, working on Motional Induction Voltage technics for measurements of oceanic flow, from electromagnetic field measurements, working in an interface between Marine Geophysics and Physical oceanography. In 2001, 2003 and 2005, R. Nolasco had three daughters, slowing down its scientific production during that period.
From 2006 onwards, R. Nolasco moved to Aveiro University, and oriented her scientific activity to the physical oceanography, namely, numerical modelling of the ocean, using state of the art tools like ROMS Regional ocean modelling system. After one year of research contract, 2006- 2007, Rita started a five-years “Ciência 2007” research contract, 2007-21012 at CESAM, under the subject: ”Global Change observatory and Marine Biodiversity”, where developed the current lines of her career becoming an researcher in ocean modelling and its applications to interdisciplinary problems.
After working in a MarPro (Life) project in 2013 and in LarvalSources (FCT) in 2014-15 in larval dispersal problems, during 2016-2017 Rita worke, in the Marine Research Institute IIM-CSIC-Vigo (Spain), in the framework of Mytiga project, performing numerical modelling of Galician Rias, and in the University of Vigo (Spain) during 2017-19, under contract of ARIOS project, studying ocean acidification. In 2019-2020 Rita back in CESAM as researcher of MarRisk (Interreg-Poctep) project, in ocean climate change and risk issues, and is presently working in stalked barnacle connectivity issues, in the framework of PERCEBES (Biodiversa) project.
She supervise 5 PhD students (2 concluded and 3 ongoing), and several Master students, providing also support to PhD students of the group, and has participated in 12 research projects. She published 37 Papers in Marine Geophysics, Physical Oceanography and Marine Biology domains, with 474 citations and hindex=12
