Nobuki Kudo

Nobuki Kudo (M’82) was born in Hokkaido, Japan, in 1957. He received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in bioengineering from Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan, in 1982, 1984, and 1987, respectively. From 1987 to 1995, he was with Toshiba Corporation, Tokyo, Japan, where he was involved in the development of an extra-corporeal shockwave lithotripter. In 1995, he acquired the position of Research Associate with the Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University, where he became an Associate Professor with the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology in 2009. His current research interests include application of the ultrasound and optical techniques for medical engineering. Dr. Kudo is a Board Member of the Japan Society on Ultrasound in Medicine. He serves as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control and an Area Editor of the Journal of Medical Ultrasonics.
