Bio
Nobuhiko Kojima received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo in 2001. During 2001–2003, he served as a researcher in Kanagawa Academy of Science and Technology. In 2003, he moved to the University of Tokyo and worked as an assistant professor. Subsequently, he worked at the University of California, Los Angeles, and VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare Systems as a senior researcher (2007–2009). He returned to the University of Tokyo as a project assistant professor in 2009. He became an associate professor at Yokohama City University in 2013. He is now working on the construction of organs with designs suitable for drug discovery support and transplantation medicine by using his own 3D culture technology. He is also trying to design “liquid liver” that works in blood utilizing engineered erythrocyte harboring metabolic enzymes for patients with inborn error of metabolism.
