个人简介
Nixon Sunny is currently researching as a final-year doctoral student within the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. He is also a Research Assistant at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London.
During his PhD, Nixon developed a novel decision-making framework for studying regional energy transitions, accounting for techno-economics, systems analysis, and lifecycle assessments. His recent work has been focused on the design of robust H2-CO2 infrastructure for applications in the heating and industrial sectors. His research involves close collaboration with industrial stakeholders as well as distinguished research institutes within Europe, with the goal of expediting the deployment of low-carbon technologies across difficult-to-decarbonise sectors.
Formerly, Nixon was the lead developer of the open-source, open-access, integrated "chain tool" within work package 4 of the EU ERA-NET ACT project, ELEGANCY. He has provided evidence to several multi-national industrial organizations, Committee on Climate Change, HMG's BEIS, engineering consultancies, etc. Furthermore, he works very closely with industry as well as the Government, providing support and technical analyses to support decision-making. He is a member of the Grantham Institute for Climate Change and Environment's "Science and Solutions for a Changing Planet" Doctoral Programme.
Presently, he is working on the H2020 project, NEGEM, to define the long-term carbon removal potential of different greenhouse gas removal technologies across Europe to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.
