Nilushi Indika Bamunuarachchi is a lecturer at the Ocean University of Sri Lanka. She received her BSc in zoology from the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, and her MSc in fisheries and aquatic resource management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. In 2019, she was awarded a scholarship by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and she is currently pursuing her MSc in food microbiology at Pukyong National University's department of food science and technology, where she is supervised by Prof Young Mog Kim. Her new research focuses on the synthesis and identification of novel bactericidal agents obtained from natural products and develops nanomaterials from naturally purified compounds.
