Nicolas J. Rawlence

My current research interests focus around human migration, migration decision making, and the role (or lack thereof) of environmental influences in the migration decision making process. Migration in general has always been a fascination of mine, and has not been limited to humans. In the past I have also been involved in research with Birds (specifically Blue-Eyed-Shags) and Chimpanzees. I recently graduated with my PhD in Anthropology from Arizona State University. The opportunity for me to study in the US was made possible through a Fulbright scholarship. I am originally from New Zealand where I completed undergraduate degrees in both Anthropology and Genetics. While in the US I have undertaken two summer positions at Oak Ridge National Laboratories: ORISE Graduate Student Researcher at ORNL through both the HERE and ASTRO opportunities in 2014 and 2016. Presently I am the administrative coordinator for The Open Modeling Foundation, and am actively exploring employment opportunities that are related to my PhD's area of research and/or teaching focused.
