Nicholas R. Jungwirth

Nicholas R. Jungwirth was born in Phoenix, AZ, USA, in 1988. He received the B.S. degree in physics and mathematics from Barrett, The Honors College, Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, USA, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA, in 2018. His doctoral thesis focused on discovering new defect-based single photon sources in wide bandgap semiconductors including zinc oxide and hexagonal boron nitride. In 2018, he began his postdoctoral research with the University of Colorado Boulder, Boulder, CO, USA and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Boulder, CO, USA. He is currently a National Research Council (NRC) Fellow with NIST Boulder.
